The Liverpool South Central SSP hosted its Partnership Day last Tuesday at Greenbank Sports Academy.

The day was an outstanding success with around 120 people attending, including for the first time primary and secondary Headteachers and Heads of P.E.

The day began with a 'brain train' physical challenge, followed by an update from Jason Smith, acting Partnership Development Manager.

There was much to celebrate as the partnership had again achieved fantastic results in getting 64% of their students participating in 3 hours of P.E and school sport, (58% for years 1 - 13).

To add to this success, almost half of our schools were congratulated for getting 80% or more of their pupils doing 3 hours, which is the national target for the end of this academic year!

Paul O'Leary gave a presentation on the success of our competition programme over the past year as well as updating people on our new website which allows for easy online entry to all our competitions.

Our school awards went to Heygreen for their superb attendance at competitions and to St Anthony of Padua for a massive increase in their PESSYP results compared to last year, well done to both schools who received a cheque for £100 to spend on sports equipment.

The sporting market place included a number of local clubs, coaches, NGBs and organisations who offered resources and advice to those attending.

The afternoon practical training sessions included Gymnastics and FUNs where PLTs and SSCos got to demonstrate plenty of shapes!

This was a great start to the new academic year, many thanks to those who took time to attend and support the work of our partnership.
