The next Tiger Woods?

Enterprise South Liverpool Academy cluster recently held their golf cluster tournament at Allerton golf course. Holy Trinity and Garston C of E both entered teams for the competition with Garston C of E entering two teams.

The competition was split up into two parts. The first part was chipping and putting. This involved the children chipping to near the flags set out and then putting to finish the hole and record their score. This was a really fun course with the young people recording some very good scores.

The second part of the competition involved the children taking part in a putting challenge. The children were given a real golf ball and putter and played two lots of six holes on the putting green. Distances were set at different distances to challenge the children. The children really enjoyed being able to play on a real putting green and there were a few children who scored hole in ones!

The winning team was the team who scored the lowest total. All scores were very similar but it was Garston 1 that narrowly took the crown of golf champions!

Overall it was a fantastic competition that gave the children the opportunity to play at Allerton golf course and it was evident to see that the children really enjoyed the experience with some excellent golf being played along the way.
