The South Liverpool School Sports Partnership Day recently held their ‘Partnership Olympic Day’ at Parklands High School. Secondary schools from the South LSSP all took part in the Olympic day. The following schools were all represented: Parklands, Calderstones, SFX, St Julie’s and Enterprise South Liverpool Academy.

The day was split up into morning activities and afternoon activities. In the morning pupils took part in Basketball, Athletics and Tennis. In the afternoon the activities that the pupils took part in where Hockey, Handball and Rounders.
Coaches along with the National Governing Bodies helped to run and deliver the competitions for each sport. Prior to the arrival of the students all pitches were marked out and the fixtures were set. It was the same from the afternoon with National Governing Bodies again working with coaches to deliver the sport.

All of the sports ran received very high levels of feedback. Scores were continually close between all the schools and it was noted that there were some excellent individual performances and scores along with strong team performances. The quality of all the competition sports was overall very high. All of the pupils that took part in the matches/races showed a great attitude towards all they did, and all of the games/matches in each sport where played in a friendly environment. All pupils from every school interacted well with each other and encouragement and support for everyone was there throughout the whole day.

As it was an Olympic day and a competitive event, there was a winner. All final scores were very close and not much between second and first. There was however a winner. The winning school for the overall day was; Calderstones. Congratulations go to them who were awarded a trophy for their success.

Thanks must go to all of the PDM’s, SSCO’s, Coaches, NGB’s and students involved in helping to organise and run the day. Thanks must also go to all of the pupils from the schools who took part in the event. Overall it was very much a successful day.
