Golf!
FOOOOOOOUUUUUUR!
Students from Year 10 at Enterprise South Liverpool Academy recently took part in a ‘Golf Afternoon’. Students from year 10 were giving a free lesson by a professional golf player from Allerton Golf Course.
The students were split into two groups and were given an hour each. The students were shown how to play the game of ‘Extreme Golf’. This game is similar to the full game of golf except the clubs are smaller and the balls are much lighter.
Students were given an introductory lesson of how to hit the ball and keep control of the ball. After being shown how to hit the ball, the students then had a go! After this the students were given feedback on how they may improve the accuracy and control of their shots. A lot of the students hit some good shots with a few slices and hooks in between!!
The lessson finished off with a couple of competitions. Who could hit the best shot and a game for accuracy. This game involved the student shaving to chip the ball closest to the pin! Again a few good shots mixed with some funny ones!
The afternoon was a really fun and interesting session with many of the students looking to take up/develop their golf. The lesson also provided the students with the skills and knowledge to be able to deliver ‘Extreme Golf’ to primary school children. Overall it was a really fun and enjoyable afternoon
