This was a brilliant basketball competition to have attended, as 8 school teams came together to score some baskets. It took place after school time at Calderstones School, with basketball sports leaders from Caldertstones and Childwall Sports College refereeing the games. While Liverpool John Moores university students kept the scores and league tables in check.
The Primary schools who attended were;
• Dovedale Juniors,
• Carlton House,
• Belvedere Prep,
• Lawrence Rd,
• Hunts cross,
• Middlefield,
• St Ambrose,
• Windsor.
All the games were contested quite competitively with lots of passing, moving and great scoring shots. I was impressed by the standard of the children who took part. And all the children got good playing time which is what we want from these competitions.
The winners on night were Lawrence Rd who won against Carlton House in the Final, and both these teams will progress to the LSSP Basketball city finals, congratulations to both teams.
Thank you to all the schools who took part and I hope to see you again for another chance to qualify for the city finals on the 31st January 2012 @ Calderstones School.
