Yr 6 Everton Academy football festival South/South Central 2011
Published Date:

The second of the new seasons ‘Everton Academy’ football festivals was successfully held at Childwall Sports college. Fifteen different primary schools in total participated in what was an enthralling competition in which all schools gave their all and did their respective schools proud. Colin Littlejohns (Everton FC Academy development officer) had only praise for the children saying, “The playing standard of the children taking part year on year is getting better, and this is mostly down to the schools who enter and the teachers who bring them to competitions like this one”.
A big thank you from the Liverpool school sports partnership to all the schools who attended;
• Childwall C of E Primary,
• Dovedale Juniors,
• Heygreen Primary,
• Holy Family Primary,
• Kensington Primary,
• Lawrence Road Primary,
• Much Woolton Primary,
• Our Lady of the Assumption Primary,
• Rudston Primary,
• Springwood Heath Primary,
• St Silas Primary ,
• St Patricks Primary,
• Sudley Juniors,
• Wavertree Primary,
• Windsor Primary.
The competition was very close to the last fixture of the day. In the end Sudley Junior school and Childwall C of E prevailed in their leagues and progress as winners to the Finch Farm City Finals. But the most important thing was that all the children got to take part and have fun.
A massive ‘well done’ to all of the schools, hope to see you all again at future competitions!
