Welcome to South LSSP
The South Liverpool School Sport Partnership started in September 2005 with 31 primary schools, 3 SEN Schools and 7 secondary schools.
Initially the SSP worked towards the Governments 2007 Public Service Agreement (PSA) target which was, to increase the percentage of young people who spend a minimum of 2 hours each week on high quality PE and school sport within and beyond the curriculum to 75% by 2007 and 85% by 2008.
The South LSSP exceeded both target hitting 77% from a baseline of 55% in 2007 and 88% in 2008.
In the run up to 2012, the Government have expanded their ambition. In 2008 the Government launched the new PE and Sport Strategy for Young People (PESSYP). As part of the Olympic legacy, they want every child to have access to 5 hours of high quality PE and sport per week (3 hours for 16-19 year olds).
